Who We Are
At Chaffee Home Watch, we specialize in providing comprehensive home watch services in Buena Vista, Salida, and the Chaffee County region. We are insured and offer professional services within Chaffee County. Our goal is to monitor your property regularly (every week or two) to provide you peace of mind in your absence.

Exterior Checks
- Check that home services meet contract specifications (landscape, spa, snow removal, exterminators)
- Walk the property and check the overall security of the home
- Visually check exterior walls, roof and gutters (from the ground)
- Visually check foundation and landscaping for potential issues
- Check for packages, remove newspapers and solicitations
- Check exterior lighting
- Visually check for pest or insect infestation and rodents
- Check garage and exterior storage areas
- Visually check hot tub (if applicable)
- Turn on main water valve upon arrival and shut off after check
Interior Checks
- Check for correct temp, humidity and check/replace filters monthly
- Ensure all doors and windows are locked
- Check for water leaks in kitchen and bathrooms
- Check all doors, windows and ceiling/floors for signs of water damage
- Flush toilets, run faucets and sink disposal
- Check refrigerator and freezer for proper operation
- Check for internet WiFi signal
- Visually check for pest or insect infestation
- Visually check for signs of mold and mildew
- Take note of unusual odors
- Check circuit panel for any tripped breakers
- Check any specific areas or items as requested by the client
- Arm security system upon departure
Additional Services*
General Maintenance
- Light handyman services
- Change air filters
- Change batteries in smoke detectors and thermostats
- Change defective light bulbs
- Run vehicle(s) while at house
- Run dishwasher once per month
- Run washing machine and dryer once per month
- Take garbage cans to street and return them after your stay
Home Entry
- Meeting contractors or other vendors at your home
- Meeting guests at your home
- Lockout services
Convenience
- Arrange for food and beverage before the arrival of homeowner
- Forward important letters or packages as requested
- Received packages
*Fees for all the above services are either based on individual or on a per hour basis
*Our objective is to limit the time spent to pass the savings on to the client
*Services can be put on hold or recommence at any time with just a phone call or email
What We are About
Steve Fangman (owner/operator) has raised his family in Colorado for over 25 years. His ~40 year career managing multi-national data centers and data security brings a new level of professionalism and attention to detail. Now retired and living in Salida, Steve's entire focus is supporting his neighbors in our beautiful valley.
We also hold liability insurance that is in place to protect you and your home in the event it is ever needed.
